My General Bio

I am an artist/ inventor/entrepreneur (www.magneblocks.com) and a composer (www.astrowave.com). I write stories too, as yet unpublished. I used to make Sony Playstation videogames, write software, and engineer laser systems. Currently, I teach piano part-time, I speak at schools and universities on "Sacred Geometry, the Shape of the Universe", which can be taught using MagneBlocks. They have been called "a cross between Lego and Rubik's Cube." My toy invention was inspired by a spiritual or metaphysical experience, where I heard a voice that was described to me as a collectively conscious entity. As the word "God" has too many religious implications (which has corrupted the concept), I prefer to use the name Murray (;-). I'm writing a book about the experience (and my life), although I'm trying to first complete a book called "Inventing MagneBlocks - the rise and fall of a hit toy". I also have a blog at fentro.blogspot.com - which is very edgy (perhaps too much so?) Pursuing my "American Dream" by risking my house and credit has nearly bankrupted my wife and I, but we've witnessed something truly amazing: EVERY child and adult responds so positively to MagneBlocks - it's a system of colorful, magnetic building blocks that can be used to create unlimited shapes, or to learn art, architecture, biology, engineering, geology, geometry, problem solving, and more. We're trying to find a way to keep the business going, while living as bohemians and keeping the product on the market (I've never worked harder for no money!). It's a character test, as one must try to remain ahead of the game, avoiding the myriad of "confused" people who let their greed pollute their character (doing things like lying, cheating and stealing). If you knew my life experience, it would curl your hair! The toy biz takes most of my time, although I do play piano professionally at times, and I have a few students. My wife and I are into holism, vegetarianism (although I cheat once in a while), PETA, Sierra Club, Amnesty International, Greenpeace, Natural Resources Defense Council, and anything to do with promoting a just and ethical world. We are actively writing politicians and the press, demanding that Bush be impeached and Cheney put on trial for treason (although we recognize that that will likely never happen). People need to start accepting some basic truths: Humanity is a really a single race, like one big family (yeah, so some of us have different skin color, language, music, fashion sense - that's what makes us all so interesting!) We inhabit a large organism (called the Earth) and we've all got to start working in harmony with her, lest we risk becoming a cancer to our planet and spoiling the great gift of life we've been given. Regardless of what you believe, we all need to be rational enough to agree on a few basic concepts: The freedom to think or believe whatever you want; The right to access ALL information; and the right to work and live in peace. The light of knowledge will grow the wisdom we need for our species to survive. Those whose actions seek to oppress, extort, or exterminate must be outlawed and enforced on a global scale. But we can do it if we put our minds to it.
